So it's kind of odd that an internet device doesn't do a standard DHCP request, and, apologies on the jab, but all my FireTV devices have been a breeze to setup and assign addresses to or receive addresses from a DHCP server. Noticed it wasn't getting an IP address as I have my own internal DHCP server, and I have a reserved address for it and it wasn't pingable. I have an Arris Flex device based on the MAC address. Some technical info, as I have this plugged up to a managed switch. Especially if you're wireless network is behind your router or you have a hidden SSID. Also when I called support they didn't seem to understand that its on a wired network AND even if you hit the WPS button, nothing happens (not sure if you have to unplug the wired port to make it go), you don't get a prompt to enter wireless credentials, and there's no way to just set an IP for it. ![]() Yes I already tried support, and yes they sent me a new device when the original one didn't work either. I believe I got mine fixed, maybe this info will help someone else.
